Thursday April 17, 2008

Today was a great day, Roger flew in for the weekend to spend Dads birthday with him. Dad was awake and quite alert when we got there. They gave him a "swallow" test with blue ice chips, he passed with no problems. His trach is still capped and he is having no problems.
While we were there earlier today his discharge counselor came in and spoke with us about Dads condition. They will be transferring him to Covenant Rehab (in the Michigan Campus) tomorrow. The plan is for him to be there for three to four weeks. She said if all goes well, hopefully he will be coming home!
Dad is able to speak very weakly and with a lot of effort, he said Rogers name and he told me I Love You!! It seems so good to hear his voice, even though its barely audible.
We are waiting to see how this new place is, so we can figure out what to do about his birthday, he may be able to have some "Birthday Tapioca" on Saturday.
Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts flowing his way, they are definitely working.
Love to All;
Skip
