This afternoon Dad was extremely tired. The therapist had him sitting in the cardiac chair for two hours. We got there just after they laid him back down and he was exhausted. He did interact a little but not much. I told the nurse a few of his "stories" Dad was grinning like crazy as they were told. He has also started to let you know when it's time to go... he drops your hand and waves.
Dad is working through his 48 hour session on straight oxygen (similar to the hose under your nose) after that they will start closing off his trach. Everything is going fine as far as his health is going, Now he just has to work on the physical and mental end of it. Dad is being given Lexapro to control his depression, it seems to be working.
Mom seems to be doing fine, she pretty much follows Dads path, if he has a good day she is more up beat, If he has a bad day she is more down. She is doing well health wise, we make sure her dialysis is done daily. She gets frustrated trying to figure out their future, but she knows at this point, she really can't. To be honest I am quite proud of her, she is handling all of this quite well and staying strong.
Keep the prayers and positive thoughts flowing their way
