Dad was quite upbeat and chipper tonight, he said he played ball today, he has to toss a ball into a cup, to work on hand/eye coordination. He says it's hard. In therapy he is working on strengthening his right leg and arm. I asked if he is using a walker, he says yes, when I asked him if he is walking he says, "Nope, my leg won't listen to my head". He is still making progress though.
He is getting better with his eating and drinking. He feeds himself part of his meal, they feed him the rest. He can get a drink himself now. He is not supposed to have straws, but tonight he had one. I asked him why he had one this evening, he said "They left them, so I kept 'em!" Dad is getting Iced Tea, he says it is gross. Mom and I water it down for him or make him some his way. He said he misses it from the Town Tub. Every night when we ask him what he had for dinner; he'll say "spaghetti, wait no" then try to tell you what he actually had.
I will say everyday is better for him and everyday he surprises us with his improvement or something he does or says. Dad is quiet about his accomplishments, but the nurses and staff sure brag him up. He is winning this crew over just like always.
Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts flowing his way...
