Okay, I don't know what happened, once again I lost a post, fortunately there wasn't anything too important on there.
Dad is doing quite well with his therapy, Kimawa (his PT) and Toni (his OT) are both quite pleased with his progress. They are standing him in the parallel bars, he can stand with them helping him for 3-5 minutes! He is also working on his range of motion and reach. Speech-wise Dad is still making progress although, as he tires, he becomes harder to understand. He will use the wrong word at times, he says his mind is thinking the correct word but it comes out something different. For example he knows I am "Skip" but most of the time he refers to me as "Robert" or "Gilbert" although his mind says Skip
Roger, Gail and Nicole came in last night, Don came up today so Dad had all but Bruce with him. He seemed quite pleased to have most of us together. We all met him for lunch then took him down to his therapy. This afternoon we had the bus bring him to my house for a short stay. Dad said he was nervous but excited for the trip. He really enjoyed "real" food though (He wanted BBQ spare ribs, french fries and potato salad.... then I threw in a strawberry shortcake for kicks too. By the time 6:00 rolled around he was whipped and getting sore so we took him back. He did get a chance to try out his new lift chair though, he said he liked it, which was good.
Tuesday morning we will take him to Bay Med and have his feeding tube removed, he doesn't need it anymore and it is bothering him.
