Dad is having a fairly good week, tonight we sat outside for quite a while, as long as we kept him out of the sun he was happy. Although, Dad was uncomfortable, he seemed to enjoy the fresh air and visiting with a couple other residents. Shortly after we took him to his room and got him situated into bed, Tim, Merilee and Cammi suprised him by stopping in. He was quite content and ready for sleep when we left him tonight.
Dads mind is sharp, he asks questions about things going on "outside". Tonjght he said "things pretty bad at the house, huh?" when I asked him what made him say that, his response was"you didn't tell me about it" we talked some about the situation, hopefully he will let it go for a while until we get it straightened out. It seems as he is still on top of what is going on in and with his life.
Mom and Dad have found a small house here in Bay City, we took Dad to see it and had an ADA eval done on it. There is very little we need to do with this place, it is pretty much wheelchair accessible and everything is on one level. We talked about different options, Dad wanted a yard and a workshop. That pretty much ruled out an apartment, and there are no assisted living facilities that will take Mom and Dad together, or they are priced WAAAAYYYY out of the range of being a possibility. I am just glad that Dad is able to work with Mom and help her to make these decisions.
Please keep Mom and Dad in your prayers as they begin on this latest journey.
