Well, it has been a fairly good week for Dad. He has been learning how to use "compensatory" tools, these will help him to compensate for things he is not able to do. He does get frustrated when she shows him one way and he can see a different way to use it. They did have him standing and "walking" a few times this week. Dad seems to enjoy weekdays, when there is therapy, to help keep him busy and the time goes faster.
This past week they have really crunched on speech, it seems to improve daily although he still stumbles many words and phrases. Dad will try and say something, if it is not right he realizes it now instead of sticking with what he is saying he will go back to it and try and find the right words for his sentence.
Dad is beginning to get out and interact more, but he is still quite self-conscious about his speech and some of his abilities. There are a few residents that try and get him to join in group activities, he just has a hard time.
We have talked about the move and the new house some over the past few days, he seems to be accepting it fairly well. He does have a few concerns that we are figuring out but for the most part he says it the for the best.
Please keep both Mom and Dad in your prayers, they still have a long way to go......
