Tuesday, October 7 2008 (Day 230)

Dad is still making good progress. He is still quite sore in his left shoulder, and his right side. We have a new "tempurpedic" like mattress on the way, hopefully that will help his discomfort. He is able to sit in his chair or wheelchair for longer periods at a time. I am able to do a "pivot transfer" with him s he doesn't have to get all scrunched up in the hoyer. He is not able to assist very much, so Mom and Kathy aren't able to do them yet. He does seem to be getting stronger daily though.
He is beginning to watch TV more, The therapist says it will help improve his speech, it seems to be helping, that and more interaction with people. He still has some issues with getting words crossed, but he is improving.
We have an appointment Thursday with his Doctor and will adjust what we need med wise, his sugar is holding quite steady with just pills and no injections. If we could just control the muscle spasms he would be quite a happy camper.
Mom is adjusting quite well having him home, seems as if we are constantly adjusting something or moving things trying to get everything in the right place for her and still positioned for Dad to have access.
Please remember Mom and Dad in your prayers and thoughts and THANK YOU all for everything over the past months....
Love to All;
