Today seems to be a much better day for Dad, he is still on a ventilator (but not relying on it) and very deeply sedated, but, we were allowed to talk to him and touch him. Roger told him to blink if he understood, and he did!! He gets very frustrated and aggitated because he can't reply, his eyes are following whoever is talking and there seems to be a "spark" in them. Kathy told him his favorite DIL was here and he tried to smile and his were tearing up.
Which is hard to see, but actually a good thing.
Dad still cannot move his right arm on command, although when they move it there is some resistance and he has reflex movement in his hand and both feet, he will also wiggle his toes when they ask him if he can.
The Drs are saying the bleeding has stopped. Now we all have to wait for the swelling and blood to be reabsorbed by his body, which could take a week or two, then we can begin to find out what damage is done. They have backed off his sedatives and over the next few days begin weaning the ventilator,
