Evening all, We just got home from seeing Dad, He was VERY alert and awake. They are giving him a medication that causes short term memory loss and amnesia, yet allows him to be awake. While we were talking to him he kept pulling his hand from ours and reaching for our faces and tried puckering up for a kiss from Mom.... He will respond to comments with squeezes (1-yes 2-no). He was staring at us very intently, His eyes are sharp and not as glassy. He is trying so hard to talk, but with the trach and such he just can't yet. I know this all seems good, but it is also frightening I guess I am just scared to get my hopes up.
His nurse today (Roxanne) said she got a slight squeeze from his right hand, so hopefully that will be coming back better soon. She said all in all Dad had a very good day.
I know I have said before please feel free to call, or email if you want to know anything or just chat with Mom, Your wishes and prayers are so very much appreciated. Keep them in your thoughts.
