Today Dad was alert and interacting one minute, then sound asleep the next. He would then wake up and act like we just got there. I also was squeezing his right hand and asked him if he could feel my hand, he looked at it and really scowled, I asked him again and he shook his head no. I read him a letter Bruce had written to him, he really seemed to brighten up for a moment. We also showed him a note Cortney had left and that got a smile from him.
His fever today was at 101.9, they called in a specialist that did more testing and found he has an infection in his lungs, so in layman's terms he has pneumonia again. This time it is a viral type that will cause the fevers and such. Again, today though, he doesn't seem as uncomfortable as he was over the weekend. He just seems to be on a plateau as far as his recovery is concerned. Maybe we all are expecting more; I don't know.
This latest setback has seemed to really hit Mom hard. I think she was getting her hopes up that his recovery was coming quicker. Kathy is going to take her out for a day of "girl stuff" and try to get her mind off life for a while. She needs it and deserves it.
Keep the prayers and positive thoughts flowing their way....
