We took Penny to see Dad today, Boy, did that get a huge smile from him. He spent an hour petting and stroking her. They were both happy puppies! Dad was a little more alert, just tired. He seemed down, I asked him if was okay, Dad kind of shrugged. I asked him if he is in pain no, Are you bored? yes. Are you depressed? yes. We ask him if he wants anything, he'll smile and we say "other than come home" he shakes his head no.
They left the TPAP on oxygen last night, if he can make it through the night on that they will take the vent machine out of his room. From there he has to be weaned from oxygen. He can't wait to get that trach out.
Therapy does sit him up twice a day for twenty minutes then to the chair for a couple hours. Today I asked if it still hurts, he shook his head no. His right leg is reflexing, his right arm is still not responding at all. I did ask him if he could see see me clearly he nodded his head. So that makes us feel better.
On a sadder note, we found out tonight that from here Dad will have to go into a nursing home, at this stage it looks as if it will be a short term. I hope it does work out to be that way.
