I am quite happy to say Dad had another good day. He got a reprieve from therapy, they took his trach out. He is talking quite well, sounds a little mechanical though. He has trouble with some words and gets quite frustrated, but with a little coaxing, he will get it out. When he plugs the trach hole he speaks quite clearly. I asked him when they were going to close it all the way, he said three or four days.
He said he had spaghetti for dinner, I asked how the hospital food was he said "excellent". Dad doesn't miss anything going on around him and seems to retain everything he is told. He doesn't always remember to tell us everything, or it just isn't "important" at the moment.
He is advancing so far and fast, it is kind of a surprise to everyone, even the hospital and staff.
