Wednesday April 23, 2008

Once again Dad is quickly improving. While visiting him tonight, he was talking more and a little more clearly. He was trying to tell me something and suddenly said "I HAD LUNCH, I ATE FRENCH FRIES" I figured he was dreaming or joking (which he does quite often, as usual) so I went to ask Renay, she said he passed his swallow test so he got a tray!! He had food for the first time in 62 days!! He also wanted to know how much gas is, I told him $3.67. He just looked at me and said "NO!?!". He was quite comical today and seemed to smile easily. Mom got him an electric razor so he can shave, they make him do as much as possible on his own. He was also going through times tables out loud.
Renay told me the plan right now is to remove his trach in the morning, When I told Dad about that he said"I know". When asked why he didn't tell us, he replied "they weren't sure". He understands everything, and doesn't seem to forget much.
Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts flowing his way, they are surely helping...
Love to all;
