Mom and I went to see Dad today, Finally. He opened his eyes a little bit, then would go right back to sleep. His temp is still staying down and the swelling in his hands and feet is gone. Dad has lost SO much weight, he is really looking better in that sense. His nurse today said that all of his tests are looking good.
He has been breathing in CPAP mode for 6-8 hr shifts, they are planning to leave him on all night. Once he gets through that, they can get him down to 10 in pressure (he is at 12) for 48 hours he can go off the ventilator completely and on strictly oxygen if needed. Apparently this "shutdown" he is in is working for getting the other issues cleared up,
He did wake up and stayed awake through therapy today. He won't (can't??) squeeze or move his arm or leg on command yet. There are so many positives going on right now, we are happy with his progress.
