Tonight I really am at a loss for words. I am totally overwhelmed at the outpouring of support for my parents from thier friends and family. WOW!! The Benefit Breakfast this morning raised a good sum for them, which will come in quite handy at this time. Mom and I talked to Dad about the benefit this evening. He asked how it went and when we told him he said"unbelievable" and he sat for a minute and then he started to tear up. I can only remember seeing my Dad like that a few times in my life and it was quite moving to see him so touched. I can't begin to Thank everyone that was involved and took time from their lives to help.
Dads speech is doing much better, he is beginning to speak more and more clearly everyday, His memory is improving daily also. He told me today that he was ready for therapy at 6:55 then he said he waited until 7:09. After that he gave up and went back to sleep. He only has speech therapy on Saturday.
Dad seems to know and understand what you ask him or explain to him, although he can't always get the right words out. He likes to say never mind, you just have to tell him to try again.
Once again Thank You to everyone who has done things for my parents, the prayers, cards, calls and support have meant so much to both of them. I know that all of this has been a big boost to helping Dad come as far as he has.
Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts flowing his way.....
