Dad, as normal, is doing surprisingly well. He has asked for more therapy time, and they gave it to him along with the exercises we do a night. He is working his tail off, but he is also sleeping better. I told him not to push so hard; his reply was "Winners have to push". He strength and resilience is amazing me. He is getting better and stronger every day. His vocabulary is growing, we are working on three syllable words and putting sentences together. He has rouble with some but is doing quite well.
Tonight for dinner Kathy made him Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and Apple Pie (he didn't like their dinner choice) he ate quite a large bowl of that. His appetite is good, he just doesn't eat the quantities he did before. He did quite well eating, then wanted help as he was getting shaky. He seems to do better from a plate than a bowl.
He and Mom are talking about the next few steps in their lives and Dad is accepting many things I thought he would have issues with, with quite an open mind. He says things won't be the same but they need to make the best of what they have left.
Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming their way, they have a lot to deal with and need to know they have the love and support of all of you.
Love to All;
Skip
PS: Mary is doing a little better, she got some good news from her Doctor and her outlook isn't looking so gloomy now, she just has a long uphill battle ahead of her. Thanks for the prayers.
