Wednesday, January14 2008 (Day 323)

Well, I was kind of stalling on posting this week. I wanted to post after Dads doctor appointment, but, with the frigid weather, we may delay it for a week. He is doing fine, so I really don't want to chance him getting out in the cold like this. Maybe I am being over protective I don't know. Dads sugar is doing quite well, when I check in the morning (after a fast) he is well into a "safe zone" and randoms are still checking quite well.
Uncle Bob and Aunt Dee were up today, (They have been busy with Aunt Dee's brother-in-law Jim, who is a stroke survivor too, he had a setback last week but is improving) Dad sure perks up when he knows he has visitors, more so now, as he can get up and visit with them. It is so nice to see him be alert and interact so much with people. He is putting things together better in his mind, he can catch things in the background on TV now and seems to enjoy and understand comedy more too. He can definitely get his point across and sometimes has an "issue" with tact. Dad also knew I had an interview this week and has been asking me for days "how'd it go?" He can tell time, but doesn't seem to comprehend a longer span.
All in all, Dad is doing quite well and Mom seems to be shaking this bug she had; she wasn't feeling well, but, she still made a valiant effort to make sure Dad was comfortable, I think as long as we can stay warm, we may have January beat.
Please remember Mom and Dad in your prayers and thoughts as you go through your day; and please throw one in for Jim too
Love to All;
