Monday, September 1 2008 (Day 194)

Dad sure had a busy day Monday. He had quite a bit of company, Brandon and Ashley were up to see him, then after dinner the Bowens and Andersons stopped in he was quite pleased, and really joined in the conversations, best that he could. It was nice to see him so upbeat and enjoying visiting. Also, without being reminded he to Kathy 'Happy Birthday".
Dad really seems to be making giant steps in returning to his pre-setback condition; I would say he is actually come farther than he was. Dads speech yesterday was extremely clear and he talked more than usual with his company. Lately he has been watching the Discovery and History channels; before he didn't even want to watch TV, now he seems to enjoy it again. He and I discuss what is going on with the hurricanes and election, he has been spending quite a bit of time catching up on those.
It seems as if the new meds are helping his GI issue, he says he isn't cramping as badly and his belly isn't hurting. He still gets a pain in his right leg (from a toned a hamstring) but that may get better with time.
I am making progress on the new house, just not real quickly, should have it ready within the week. Just has been extremely warmish and slows down progress. Mom is getting anxious and excited about the move.
Please keep them in your prayers and positive thoughts.....
Love to All;
