Sorry about posting so late; Tonight seeing Dad was kind of a mixed bag. They are taking away his sedative, so he is quite active, which is great to see, but at the same time its hard to see him so agitated and frustrated, he has been on a narcotic for three weeks so he is having some withdrawals. They have to keep his left arm restrained, he reaches for his vent tube as soon as they release it. So he plays with his sheets and gown instead, he pulls it off and his gown up and over, the nurse comes in and straightens it back out, about an hour later she has to do it again.
Tonight we found out there is one more step before Dad can be transferred, he needs to have a feed port put in so they can get the last tube out of his throat. The plan is to do that procedure the first part of next week.
Mom is still here with us and for the most part she is holding up quite well. We try to keep her busy. She is taking care of herself and doing what she is supposed to. All of your cards and calls and prayers are a comfort to her. If we have missed calling you, I apologize, Please feel free to call anytime even if it is just to say Hi and talk to Mom
