Happy Memorial Day!!
Dads speech still continues to improve, although he is not sleeping well so his voice is scratchy and weaker. He is improving on feeding himself, we have to keep an eye on him though, he doesn't realize when his mouth is full and keeps adding to it. His speech therapist is giving him some homework to do between sessions and he is practicing quite hard at them.
Dad has been complaining about his hip hurting for the past few days, it doesn't seem to be letting up and tylenol isn't taking the edge off anymore. His nurse called the Dr. today and got him something stronger and scheduled an x-ray for morning.
He was quite determined he needed to get his haircut today, of course being a holiday, the stylist didn't come in. Dad was NOT happy, so I took in my clippers and did it. He said he liked it, luckily there isn't much to cut and it is a simple one too.
Wayne and Cheri were in to see him over the weekend, they were quite surprised with how much better Dad is looking compared to the last time they were in. We see him daily and can see and can see changes, I can imagine how it is for anyone else. Dad sure enjoyed their visit and brought it up today, so we know events are being retained, and days of the week are beginning to make sense to him again.
If you get a chance (I realize the fuel prices are a factor to all) come by and visit, or just drop him a line in the mail.
Please keep all the prayers and positive thoughts flowing his way, he is not out the woods yet...
