Thursday, August 21 2008 AM (Day 183)

Our meet with Dr Ali (yes, his first name is Muhammad) this morning actually sounded very encouraging. The MRI's and EEG's show there was NO new stroke and NO seizure activity. When Dad was admitted to the hospital on the 10th, there was a combination of issues,
1) his blood sugar had plummeted (29 at one point)
2) a series of infections
3) high BP and heart palpitations
4) overall health
They now have his sugar under control, his blood pressure is doing fine and his heart rate is great and steady. At this stage Dr. Ali is not to concerned about the CHF and his pneumonia is getting better.
As far as the pains in his leg they will try to keep that at bay with pain medication. Doctor said that it is quite common for a disabled limb to have pain like that occasionally.
Basically Dad is in quite capable care right now, they are trying to find out why he had these issues in the first place, it may have only been a neurological reason.
I will post again this evening after our visit and let you know how the day progressed.
Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts.
Love to All;
